Quoting: BeautifulIdiot
I was going to say he is one of the canucks best RD but thats a pretty low bar
You're right though
He's back to playing the minutes and getting the offense he did early on in his career.
Toronto trading him after 4 years Pro at age 22 wasnt the best thing for his development.
He got traded to a team that didnt know how to develop him and expected a finished product.
Schenn struggled for the better part of a decade in PHI, ARZ,LAK,ANA and even VAN the first time around.
Playing in TBL organization with their Coaches and their approach to Defense he seemingly resurged Schenn who was on his was to AHL or KHL.
Since joining TBL he's been a different player and while their depth didnt allow him much time he thrived when he got it.
The continued succeess after 2 years in TBL in his new home of VAN shows its not just situational based on the system.
That said i'd keep Schenn where he is at
Not sure if this theory would hold up in a 3rd organizations system
While Schenn has grown quite a lot since hitting 30 years old he's at the age he has his money and his cups.
His focus will be on trying to get back some of those lost years where he missed out on a ton of games.
