I wouldn't swap Zub for Pionk straight up, forget about a 1st and a prospect. The Sens have plenty of offensive talent on the blueline, Zub is their only established top 4 Quality Defensive Dman (Sanderson looks WELL on the way to being that too, but he's played two NHL games). They need to add another Zub type if anything, trading him away is not an option at this stage.

Also I kinda think Pionk is a trap dman. He's not reliable defensively, and while he can produce points decently well for a dman, he's not really a great driver of offense. It's a less extreme version of the Tyson Barrie problem imo. I wouldn't be rushing to pay him 5.8mil. They guy they need is a Dylan DeMelo type tbh.

If Zub will sign an extension sign him. Keep Boucher and, what may be a lottery, Ottawa's 1st.

I like Pionk but thats pretty terrible for Ottawa.
