Terrible trade for Carolina. First of all, they have no need for more centers, let alone forwards with Patches coming back in February. Second of all, you clearly don’t understand how Waddell runs the show, Sind that trade is the exact opposite of how he does things. Overpaying for an aging rental at a position of strength, yeah no thanks. Third of all, Gardiner is LTIRetired, no reason to move his cap hit now. And last of all, even if the Canes were to make this lousy trade, they would be over the cap and wouldn’t be able to bring back Patches in February. All in all, it doesn’t work out at all for the Canes.
