Sabres pass. The Sabres have several young centers in the pipeline- cozens, savoie, Thompson, Krebs, kulich, ostlund, and mittelstadt. They might be missing that top end 1c that they almost certainly will need, but unless McMichael is that guy, I am sure they would rather have peterka.

No thx, Peterka stud, he is just perfect for playing with Cozens on the same line and it seems our coach already sees the chemistry there.

Caps should only trade McM for a definitive upgrade in the top 6, Peterka isn't that. I wouldn't worry too much about him playing w Dowd and Hath in camp. Lavi said himself that lines are really fluid and that to give one person a different look you have to move another down. Even if he did end up there to start the season, that 4th line would be utilized more like a 3rd line at 5v5 anyways. Dowd and Hathaway legitimately had some of the best defensive impacts in the entire league last year, and put up ok offensive ones even playing with the offensive black hole that is Hagelin. I think a McM - Dowd - Hath line would work really really well, and give McM more minutes than he got last year.
