If Vegas fans come at me for this I'm going to remind them Smiths contract is obscene.

I don't actually think this is good for either team but I like the concept of Nick Hague helping us out.

The only reason Vegas would even consider downgrading at 2 positions like this is to save 3+ million in cap space (745k + ~2.5m for Hague's next contract). But that new contract would put Vancouver around 4.5m over the cap. Who else is Vancouver going to move to free up the necessary cap space and what team is going to take him/them?

I agree thats why Vegas would do it. Van has extra bodies right now so it would not cost us 5 million at all. it's moving out almost 6 and getting in 6.x because if Sandin is getting 1.4 Hague isn't getting 2.5. That 750k is basically a send down because our cap hit counts extra guys who wont be up with the club.

(we can also waiver Dowling or Joshua)

You can't seriously be comparing Sandin to Hague?

Hague >> Sandin
