I would love to trade Mahura and the Colorado 2nd for Nic Hague to pair with JD bumping Vaaks to LD3 but still totally game for giving Zellweger 9 games at some point, probably after the TDL imo since there would be more of a spot for him

I'd have guys like Klingberg, Shattenkirk, Silfvergberg, Grant, Stolarz all on the block

I admit I know nothing about White but I liked what I saw from Benoit last season as a 3rd pair guy and I think he has more to give defensively. His offensive analytics were pretty good. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Zellweger get 9 games because he’s probably too good for juniors but that’s where he has to go if he doesn’t make the ducks.

I'm full on Benoit at LD3 under Fowler and Vaaks

they should try getting Zellweger to play somewhere in Europe since he isn't AHL eligible imo, he isn't going to get much better playing in juniors another year

Completely agree that Zell should get playing time. Benoit was solid. White was fine with the Devils and I expect him to have some playing time. I expect him to start instead of Benoit.

I don’t mind your lines either but I’m just not so sure how healthy and productive Silfverberg will be. Before the season I’d move Mahura possibly for a depth RW if available or a late pick if Hague isn’t possible. He just doesn’t have a spot anymore.

Before the Klingberg signing Verbeek did say he wanted to add a D and a fwd. I’m interested to see who the fwd is.

He’ll be back dominating WJC in December.

I wonder is Silfverberg will end his career like Kesler did on LTIR, if no we certainly need a NHL caliber winger since Vatrano can play on the left and right

Yep which is why I don’t mind Kessel. He had a decent season last year with AZ. One year deal like Klingberg and he shows his scoring touch again and he a TDL piece.

UFA wise it’s him or Rodrigues. But I’d imagine there will be some other names available a little deeper into training camp.

Not gonna lie Bjorkstrand would look good at 2RW especially for the price he was moved for.
