Kane isn’t going to sign a darling deal like that with any team. He will probably get 5-6 years at around $8m. Think more of Ovechkin’s deal rather than Patrice’s.

Bergeron is going to retire after this year I’d assume. Even if he did come back, we’d be in a worse spot and getting older. Kane also makes us older. That is a terrible plan for 2023-2024. I think they can still compete with the right moves in 23-24 but the goal would be to get younger players.

You don’t magically get younger players. They have to be a quoted by trades or drafting. The later is the preferred way but you’ll be waiting on a player for a few years. Look at John Beecher as an example.
