All Pittsburgh fans.

Eberle >>> Zucker
Geekie = Kapanen, when you factor in age and contract differences
Joseph doesn't make up for the discrepancy

Ummm Geekie most certainly doesn’t equal Kapanen. Kapanen is definitely much better than Geekie. Geekie isn’t a great skater and an ok 4th liner. Kapanen is a solid middle 6 winger.
Eberle is definitely better than Zucker but it’s a stretch saying there is a large discrepancy between the two.
This trade definitely favors Seattle with POJ added

You're utterly failed to take into account the significant discrepancy of age, cap hit and term between Kapanen and Geekie. You completely ignored my note "when you factor in age and contract differences." Even their productivity is closer than you'd like to pretent: Geekie had 22 points in 73 games while Kapanen had 32 points in 79 games getting 2 minutes more ice time per game, and there are certain subtle indications that Kapanen played on a better team than Geekie.

I didn’t utterly fail to take into account those things. I’m just logical and know it’s irrelevant. Let’s start with the age aspect. They are literally only 2 years apart. Let’s not act like there is a 10 year gap. Both are still incredibly young and just entering their prime. So you’re just wrong to say there is a significant age gap.
Now the cap hit. The difference in cap hit is only 1.8 million. And that could be less next season. That’s not a significant difference.
Now for the term. Geekie is on a 1 year contract and Kapanen is on a 2 year contract. Again not significant.
Again I didn’t ignore anything. It was just a baseless and irrelevant argument to make.
And no their production isn’t close. The one pretending there is you pretending it’s closer than it is. But anyways, it only proves my point that in a career year for Geekie he was still 10 points less than Kapanen who had a bad year. When you take pts/60 Geekie had 1.4 to kap’s 1.7.
And if Geekie is playing 2 less minutes per game on a bad Seattle team, what do you think he’d get on a much better pens team?
So long story short you’re argument is silly considering you’re claiming Eberle is much better than Zucker even though Eberle is older by 2 years, has more term on his contract, and only had a .2 pts/60 advantage while playing like 3 minutes more per game than Zucker and arguably played with better linemates than Zucker.

"Just logical"?!?!? More like just ignorant. Everything I said went right over your head.

The importance of the age gap isn't in the number of years, it's in the amount of team control. Geekie is more valuable because he's under team control for at least 4 years, Kapanen only two. That's a 100% difference, so Yes, it's a significant age gap.

Next, your blithe dismissal of a $1.8 million cap hit gap as "not a significant difference" is laughably clueless. Kapanen is being paid almost 129% of what Geekie is being paid for 45% more productivity. Let's suppose that Geekie re-signs for three years at $2.5 million per. That means that Seattle will have Geekie for this season and the next two for the same price as Pittsburgh has Kapanen for two seasons. Characterizing what is essentially three seasons for two as "not a significant difference" is utterly hilarious.

Even worse is your failure to understand how contracts work. Geekie is a RFA at the end of one year; Kapanen is a UFA at the end of two years. Your contention that the difference between a RFA and a UFA contract is "Again not significant" is as ridiculous as it is ignorant. Seattle might choose to re-up Geekie for 5 years, so that his term is 6 years, not Kapanen's 2. That has value.

Finally, comparing Eberle to Zucker, either by last season, the last two seasons, or by their entire careers, and claiming that they're in the same universe of equivalence tells us all we need to know.

Yes you’re ignorant. Just because your arguments were bad doesn’t mean they went over anyones head.
Lol Legare has 6 years of team control and Matthews only has 2. I wonder if they’d accept a Legare for Matthews trade?

Again your arguments are terrible and no matter how much you repeat them, you’re wrong. So I’m just going to leave you to your books of ignorance.

So you think that Legare is to Matthews as Geekie is to Kapanen?

Brilliant. Who can argue with logic like that? And such knowledge!

You have no answer to logical argument, so you just say that the argument is terrible in the hope that someone will hear you and believe you. It doesn't work that way. You have to prove your case, not whine.
