Islanders decline. Not fair value for Mayfield.

yeah good luck getting more than a good 2nd for a good bottom pair d man. If he steps into the top 4 this season and puts up similar results then we'll talk about a first

Him and Toews were a pair and then Mayfield + Leddy. Last year Pulock was hurt so he played first pair with Pelech. I mean he hasn’t played 3rd pair since Trotz was hired…. or fired for that matter!!! Lol

Mayfield is underrated. Do people forget how much top 4 RHD cost? It’s not cheap. I mean cmon, Winnipeg paid 2 2nds for Dillon.

Also for OP, jets decline. I think there’d be some interest in him, but he’s got another year after this one on his deal and cap space is at a premium right now. Edmonton sure knows that lol. Maybe if there’s a deal to be made around foegele+ for Stanley jets would be interested.

I would maybe trade Dillon for Foegele. I would have to be shedding salary to consider acquiring him.

Oilers can’t afford that. Which is why it probably costs them a bit to move out foegele as teams know they need cap space. Which is why I substituted Dillon for Stanley as he’s making under a million.

Jets also do need bottom 6 help and tbh they’re probably be rebuilding next year anyways so doesn’t really matter what his cap hit is.

Yeah idk where this myth that he’s a third pair guy came from. Dobson played 3rd pair until halfway thru this season. When Pulock came back he was paired with Aho and Greene for a little bit. Wasn’t reunited with Pelech until he was healthier AND Mayfield got hurt.

I think there is mutual interest in an extension anyway. We will see what happens there.

Yeah but u have to get something out of it. I’d be more likely to target Puljujvari than Foegele. Jets have a surplus of defenseman anyway.

Please stop trying to get Mayfield and his great contract from NYI for nothing to fix both your cap issues and questionable D. NYI will never go for that. NYI has o clear space assuming Kadri deal is done they are not going to give up a good D man with a small contract even if it is a 1 year deal. Only way they make that deal is if they are out of it at the deadline

The Caps have absolutely no need to say yes to that
