Not bad but I do have concerns. You are throwing out the youth, and not in the short term only. I like Stone in the right role, but for 4 years - not sure. Engelland will command more than $1.5 and to spend more for a guy on the bench? I would like to see what Kylington, Morrison, and or Andersson can do. May be the last chance for at least one of them to prove they are capable. We need to know for sure.

You have a similar idea to what I am thinking by putting a young forward prospect with Backlund and Frolik. I like it. Tkachuk is ready to take on a bigger role. It is hard figuring out if Backlunds line should be 2 or 3. If 2 then Tkachuk is a third liner. Not just your issue, I have a hard time putting him on a line in the top 2 if you take him away from Backlund.

I am not a Mason fan, nor a Johnson fan. I have always thought Philly was a better team when Mason was out and Neuvirth was in. And I wouldn't want Neuvirth in Calgary. I think Elloitt is better than he showed last year. Gulutzans system change really messed up his head early in the season. I think he will be good to go next season.

Dude I'm telling you as a flyers fan Mase is a good goalie. Waaaaay better than Neuvirth. Neuvy isn't that great and the only reason he isn't signed is because he wants a long term deal and to be the garaunteed #1 and we can't give that to him with Hart, sandstrom, and Stolarz all coming and wanting to split time

Thanks for the input. How i see it, Nino is a stud. He's got the advanced stats to back him up, adds the physicality we need for our top line PLUS he's an RFA so I think he's worth the price (maybe more). In terms of youth, I think its time to think ahead with the young players we have now. This roster has 9/12 forwards under the age of 26.

In terms of defence, I want to over-marinate Kylington and Andersson in the farm. When Franson's and Kulak's contracts expire we can bring the swedes up. Stone slides down to the bottom pairing with Kylington. Andersson pairs up with Brodie. When Stone's contract expires, Fox should be ready to make the jump. Engelland can walk if he wants more than 1.5M. I'd like to keep him around because he sticks up for the team and apparently everyone loves him.

I shifted Tkachuk down to Bennett's line because Bennett can't carry a line on his own like Backlund can; Bennett needs talented wingers to get him going. Backland should be fine with whoever is on his LW.

As for goaltending... with Bishop and Darling gone, Elliott costing a pick and Fleury's value being all over the place, I think Mason is the best option available in terms of cost.
