Vegas is on their own planet and Ottawa wasnt trying to get cap space, they were trying to save money because they are the cheapest team on this planet. Also Pacioretty makes 7 million a year and Murray made over 6 and neither are worth that much. Holl makes 2 mill and that's what 4th defenders cost

3rd is an overpayment for 2 million though. Consensus here seems to be moving 5mil AAV for someone way underperforming will cost a 2nd. Not sure you would have to pay to move Holl as there are other teams who would likely value him as is. If you can move Kerfoot somewhere, he will likely get some (though small) return as 3.5 is good for a 2nd line winger. Though you know his points will drop off not being with Tavares/Nylander, but he did have a career year.
