Goaltending and Defense look nice!

Forward not so much in my mind. They have too many big contracts up front. Lee, Bailey, Nelson, Pageau, Plameri, Beauvillier are ouch contracts in my mind. All good players. But Pageau can't be making 5m on your 3rd line. Palmieri contract has been insane since day one (3.5m would have been fair). They also have 4 x 4/5th liners making over 1m a year. I think their cap distribution needs work.

They have good players and one really good star in Barzal but no super start talent. They need a few stars, not just one. Hopefully Aatu and Wahlstrom can be that.

They are right up against the cap, have very little in terms of notable prospects and no super star talent. But their defense is very good and their goaltending is very good (although too much spent on a backup).

As is, I don't think this is good enough!

I would say they have 3 stars right now: Dobson, Barzal, and Sorokin. And 2 fringe stars: Pelech and Pulock.

I agree that they need more star power at forward

Pelech, Pulock and Sorokin are for sure stars and Dobson is on his way up as well.

The best teams have 3-4 stars up front as well not just one.

Can we all stop giving Dobson crazy term and anything over $4.75. He's going bridge at 3 x $4.75 most likely and Romanov in the same sort 3 or 4 x $2.5 window for now. They have to look ahead too
