Description
MIN: Honestly, I don't know what MIN would be looking for since they have a great defense and really solid forward prospects. I assumed a 1st round pick and our first round selection last year might be enough.

BOS: Not sure how much they value Carlo, but the point was I was trying to send them a LHD that is NHL ready for a RHD. Figured McAvoy is untouchable but wasn't sure about Carlo. Hagg/Carlo were both 2nd rounders so maybe the value is there - don't know too much about Carlo. I could sub Hagg for Morin if BOS is interested in a big bruiser on defense instead of a hybrid type defender in Hagg.

DALWPG: I picked Dallas but this trade is to anyone willing. Same with Read.

I'd imagine Carlo is just as untouchable as McAvoy. Sweeney had a chance to trade Carlo in a deal for Landeskog last year and refused to do it. He's seems to value his young RHD very much. Boston has young LHD in the system in Zboril, Laouzon & O'Gara. Zboril and Lauzon probably need a year in the AHL, but O'Gara could probably give them 3rd pairing minutes. They also have Joe Morrow who is an RFA that plays the left side.

Ok cool. Just trying to throw some ideas around but thanks for the input on their prospect system. I know Hagg and Morin are NHL ready next year and could help take pressure off of Krug/Chara on the left side, but if we'd have to pay a lot to get a RHD I don't think it's worth it at this point.

When it comes to defense, I've always been a fan of draft and develop. I think when you look around the league, the elite d-men tend to be draft/develop type vs traded or UFA's. PHI/WPG might match up well in a deal for Trouba, but he'll cost more than Carlo. The good news is from what I've seen (and I could be wrong) they could use some LHD support .

Yeah the Flyers have drafted and developed defenseman, but the problem is they are all lefties. Provorov, Hagg, Ghost, Morin, and Sanheim were all our draftees and they are all left handed haha. I owuldn't mind Trouba, but i know the cost would be Ghost and some so I'd rather not do that yet until we see what his next contract might look like and whether or not Sanheim is NHL ready since he seems most likely to make Ghost expendable. We did sign Phil Myers as an undrafted RHD and he is one of our top prospects now and could be in the NHL next year.

Could also look at a guy like Dumba from Minny. It all depends on what style of d-man your looking for. Are you looking for a TWD, DFD, OFD? are you looking for a future top 4 or a guy whose probably a 3rd pairing, but has potential to be a 2nd pairing? I'm sure COL would like to unload Barrie, CHI is cap strap and could be willing to move someone.

two-way defender would be best if we are keeping Ghost. We have Provorov who can provide offense and Morin/Gudas to be DFD.

Most fans of wild may not agree with this proposal, but I like Rubtsov. And the choice in the top 15 on a strong draft will not be superfluous.

The Russian named German, what's not to like? laugh

I don't think Nino gets traded unless he prices himself out of MN, or an offer that blows GMCF out of the water.
