I think if the Flames are chasing it then it would be Newhook as well but the Flames add a second or B prospect. If the Avs are then they likely overpay and Newhook is comparatively 'easy' to part with if he's being replaced as the 2C by Lindholm. So I took the latter as being fair allowing for my Avs bias lol.

Just don't see Joe or Macfarland parting with Newhook. He's still too young to know what he could be and with Girard, we're either going for a hockey trade (1 for 1 like Johansen for Seth Jones) or for futures, which doesn't make sense here.

The only realistic exchange that works numerically for Los Angeles is Hanifin for Iafallo and Walker (with or without adjustments).

The Wings trade isn’t bad in terms of value, however not as likely considering the lack of depth in high end center prospects. Between the 2023 first and Kasper, that might be just a bit too much for SY to let go of.
