    Why do a lot of these NYR mocks keep sending Stepan to Minny?

    He's not needed to play 3C there next year, and his cap doesn't work at all with the team.

    I've had him going elsewhere in other mocks. Probably popular because he's from Minnesota and they have expendable D that NYR would be interested in. Plus included Haula rights in this as a way of taking away a center from them. He could slot in as a 2C. There's no guarantee Staal will have another year for them like this year. Their cap situation is definitely not my expertise though I do know they have some big name RFAs to re-sign in Granlund & Niederreiter. Also unlikely they re-sign Hanzal
