I wouldnt call Dach a full on 2c imo he still has the potential but is looking like a physical 3c rn if you want to get the most out of him. Now for Vesalainen even tho hes yet to hit the ground running in nhl is still a very good prospect that could pan out very well especially with how Montreal is looking like they want big skilled players he falls right into their ideal player given he has the right opportunity and PLD could still be a solid 1c. Has been trying to come to Montreal since he was drafted why you see bad pr around him on past teams

Euh no you can forget Caufield and Suzuki while Dach could be swap to obtain Dubois (unlikely) Jets Don't have the higher hand in the negotiation right now. Dubois and is agent have been publicly saying they want out of Winnipeg, don't want to resign for more then 2 years because they want to be UFA choose is own destination himself.

So while he would normally cost high price all the fact together make it so is value is under what should be pay. Other team won't want to pay alot when knowing Dubois won't resign with them and be a rental for one or two year maximum. Also Dubois could choose to not present himself to play with the team (jets or traded one).

In the worst case scenario Hughes just have to wait the 2 years as MTL is not at one Dubois near to be competitive and sign him for free.

Here's the problem why can't they just sign him for 2 years contend for one and sell him for triple what you Hab fans want to trade (better copp deal where a 1st 2nd and prospect) that is 100% better than taking a trash deal now

Well he could still decide to not sign but even if he sign other GM known that he want out and where he would like to go so they won't offer premium asset to have him on rental. It also depend of how much money contract he his.

The time also is a Huge factor because more time pass, less people will offer them alot of thing. Like I say what MTL could do is just wait the 2 years and offer him a contract for free.
