When will people understand you cannot simply sign RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS. RFAs rights belong to the team most recently under contract. In this case Pastrnak is a Bruin come July 1. He does not just hit open market like Shattenkirk, Oshie, Hanzal just to name a few of big ticket UFAs. The only way Pastrnak is a Canadien is if Boston and Montreal complete a trade sending Pastrnak's rights to Montreal in which Montreal would then have to sign him to a contract OR Montreal signs an offer sheet for Pastrnak from the Bruins which if NOT matched by Boston, Montreal obtains Pastrnak for the contract that was offer sheeted. If an offer sheet is not matched, it results in the player's previous team, in this case the Bruins recieveing draft pick compensation from the player's new team in this case Montreal. With the 7 year, $7 million AAV contract you have Pastrnak signed for, that would result in Montreal sending Boston their 2017 1st round pick, 2017 2nd round pick and 2017 3rd round pick.
