There’s no reason for the Isles to make this trade. Pageau is the better player and is an elite face off man. His ability to help take other teams best players out of the game is pretty important since the islanders will only score 100 total goals next season lmao.

Col has no interest in taking on that bad contract. If they wanted an overpaid center over 30 they would just sign Kadri. There isn't anything on NYI that makes sense for Colorado

JG Pageau is in no way an overpay. He plays in all situations, face off specialists, PKs, PP. He is 29 with 4 years left on his contract the Islanders are paying him through his prime, he will be 33 at the end. JG between Rantanen and Lehkonen would deadly.
