Curious, why are you interested in Serverson? Trading Miller for him probably doesn't make Vancouver any closer to the playoffs this year, it might actually hurt their chances, and Severson wont be anywhere near his prime when Vancouver is ready to complete. I would rather additional picks or young players.

if the Devils were a playoff team, I think it gets done. However, risking these assets for a guy with no team control probably doesn't make sense for them at the moment.

Definitely less expensive to resign. I guess I feel acquiring Severson would be a short term move that wouldn't likely make much if any difference in the team making the playoffs this year. I would rather Mukhamadullin and maybe an additional pick over Serverson, Mukhamadullin may not be an A prospect but if he becomes an NHL player he at least he works with our timeline.
