I can promise you the Habs are not getting rid of an unprotected 1st RD pick even if it's from Florida for Barrie. This helps Edmonton and doesn't really help Montreal in any way.... So the way Hughes has been running things I will need to say that's a no from the habs

Habs are a placeholder, as is the return. Just looking at what this roster could look like if Barrie was moved out in favor of Weegar.

Edmonton isn't interested in Hoffman. The ONLY reason for moving Barrie would be to free up the cap space. Otherwise, he's well worth his cap hit and well liked in the dressing room.

Barrie is not going to fetch a 1st round pick for any team in the league. I think it is best to keep him this year and then look at trading at the deadline next year. That is when you will get value for Barrie.

Even the 32nd pick for barrie is a massive overpayment and specially for a team liks montreal, c'mon

I disagree on Barrie's value but it's irrelevant - it doesn't change the roster construction one iota. And look at that roster - it's the best team in the league.
