Heinen would be good to add, but they are best off giving Robertson another look in the top 6. The cap squeeze is real now though, so perhaps they can get Nino Niederreiter on a one year deal and move Kerfoot (problem is his NTC probably is really limiting where he can go atm with teams needing to move guys around).

I may be in the minority but I like kerfoot; dude had 50 points (mostly 5v5). He can play anywhere in top 9, is great on pk, really fast. I think we keep him; a 3rd line with him, Kampf and Engvall would be great defensive matchup

Regarding Danton Heinen…he wants around $3 million per year annually. The Penguins aren’t currently interested in giving him that kind of payday.

All of Rodrigues, Milano and Heinen would be excellent additions to either the top 6 or bottom 6 but all would be too expensive for the Leafs IF they don’t shed some salary.

The issue right now is thinking a bottom 6 comprised of Engvall, Kampf, Kubel, Robertson, Gaudette, Simmonds, Malgin etc can make up the 47 goals left from Mikheyev, Kase, and Spezza. That’s major fukcin issue right now.

Both Kerfoot (who rode a massive PDO bender last year) and Engvall are due for regressions. IF Robertson starts the year you can probably pencil him in for 8 to 12 goals.


God help this team if anyone of Matthews, Marner, Nylander, or Tavares misses any significant time

First, why do you say Engvall & Kerfoot are due for regressions ; they scored 15 & 13 goals respectively - pretty much in line with their career averages. I expect Engvall to pot a few extra.
I can say the same thing about any top team… what if Makar or NacKinnon gets hurt or McDavid or Draisatal or Tkatchuk or Barkov or Hedman or Koucherov. Most of the best teams are too heavy
