Description
Flames would extend Drouin for 3 years Price depends how he would perform.
Drouin is fully recovered from wrist surgery and has potential to get 70 pts (Definetely a risk worth taking)

Flames would make a qualifying offer, if the players reject then they go to arbitration. At these proposed contract I doubt they reject. Keith might because their families always push for more. Brady didn`t go to camp until the Senators folded and paid him what he wanted.

Montreal needs to create cap and roster space, this doesn't really accomplish either. Sure we get a 1st for 500k space but we would still have too many wingers if Ylonen or Roy earns a spot out of camp. Younger, faster and more skill is what HuGo is trying to do not add players like Lucic.

I hear what you are saying but the only player ready for the NHL is Ylonen. I do the trade for the 1st rd and then at the TDL HABS can dump, Dadonov, Lucic & Byron and bring up the young guns. It would give them about 30-40 games in the AHL to develop

See, I don't think we will be in a position to move players at the deadline. We are a fringe team and so far with the moves (or lack there of) everything seems to indicate that Price will be ready for opening night. That coupled with a better start to the season under MSL should keep us as a fringe playoff team around the deadline. I do not see us adding for a deep run but I also don't see Hughes and company dumping UFA's if we are in or within 6 points of a playoff spot at the deadline.

Very possible, depends on their strategy if they consider trying for Bedard or leave it up to fate with the players they have

I don't think the plan is to intentionally tank, since we have not paid to dump players and refuse to retain on anyone with more than 1 year term.

I would do it if you remove the retention on Hoffman. Basically any retention that keeps going after next year is a no go

It's not because Lucic wanted to play in Montreal that Montreal is interested...😂 In addition, a choice at the end of the first round is not interesting! By trading the two individually Montreal could have more.
