A contract of that length also implies that the Isles have given up on Salo as being a top 6 D

Last season they had about the same impact. Leddy can skate fast , that’s it. I wouldn’t even sign him for league minimum. It felt like every other shift he was getting burned last season (for example look at mackinnons goal in the playoffs).

Everything you've listed is what I wanted to happen. They signed Chara, I rooted for the team to fail and miss the playoffs. Chara didn't deserve to make the playoffs last season. I also don't want Devon Toews on the isles at this point, I want the isles to continue to struggle and every NHL analyst continue to sh*t on the isles for giving up a Norris caliber defenseman for scraps. I know it bothers isles fans which is what I wanted to happen the day he was traded. Gives me a lot of joy!

That is false. They ended up in the same spot, eliminated by the lightning in the ECF. With Toews they probably would have beat the lightning. Toews is a superstar, he would be the best player on the isles.

For every video of Leddy getting put in a blender there’s a video of Toews being put in one. But woah that’s a lot of blue on his profile!

That is incorrect buddy. Toews played 25 min + on a cup winning team, played almost half of the 3rd period in game 6 to preserve a 1 goal lead.
