Sorry to see Copp and Vitrano go, they were truly excellent moves by Drury.

Cannot commit to Strome for more than 3-yrs. Too many expensive contracts going into Eye-gor's UFA year in 2025-26. Someone will have to waive their NMC along with Goodrow being moved in order to keep Eye-gor.

This core group will have 3 shots at winning The Cup, then NYR will retool. LAFRENIÈRE will be a force, Kakko will continue to frustrate.

If NYR cannot get low cost 3C in a trade, than why not Derek Stepan. He is the same age as Kreider, I cannot accept that his career is over.

Wouldn't give Strome 3 million for 3 years, let alone 6 million a year. We all know they love him in the locker room, but he is not going to be a 2C on a team that wins a cup. On a cup contending team he should be a 3C, but that will never happen here. Drury needs to take the toys that Gallant can't stop playing with away from him. Copp or Chytil for 2C, Strome won't be coming back.

Igor will come in at about $10 -$11 million. With all the hefty contracts still on the board, you'll have to play hardball against the guys with no leverage (Schneider, Kravtsov, Miller, Lafrenière, Kakko). Lindgren will have arbitration rights, looking at a raise to about $4.0 - $4.5 million. Aside from the spurt going into the playoffs and the playoffs, Chytil will either return to the norm and earn a small raise or go to arbitration if he plays well on the wing, I think RW is what he is suited for, and he should find his niche there.
