Strong 2223 roster with space for MacK extension

Description
According to Bob Mackenzie, Strome is unlikely to be tendered by Chicago and will be a UFA on July 13. Colorado offers the perfect situation for a 1-year "prove it" deal. He can re-enter free agency a year from now and land himself a massive contract (see Kadri, Nazem).

With Carolina shipping out Tony DeAngelo, this opens up a spot for a Girard trade. Colorado acquires the RFA rights for Necas and Bridge and re-signs the pair to 2-year deals.

Expiration of Johnson, Strome, Compher, and Athanasiou's deals in a year should allow for enough space to re-sign MacKinnon, Byram, and Newhook to new deals.

    I like a lot of this but it seems risky when we are in our win now mode to gamble on a 2C, especially if we move girard who would be one of our main trade pieces to land a really good 2C. We've seen our team without a true 2C and it was rough, i'd rather not go down that road again right now.

    I don't think Strome needs to repeat Kadri's season for this to be a strong roster because the third line would be extremely effective in this scenario.

    Canes need a replacement and I’d be fine with it but if they’re not willing to spend 5m on tda idk why they’d spend it on girard. Clearly they think they can’t fit that into the cap.

    Girard actually plays defense; could be that it wasn't about the salary with TDA but the style.

    Interesting idea. Strome's skating is a concern. I'd feel better with him on the 3rd line with a cheaper deal.
