Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald gave a pre-draft media availability and here are the top points:

On Bratt contract: They have made a big offer. They want Jesper Bratt to be a New Jersey Devil "for a long time."

On Bratt trade: He will not be traded. He never talked to anyone about trading Bratt and said the rumor did not come from NJ Devils camp.

On trading #2 pick: Will only trade for young (age 20-22) major asset, that fits their team and has many years of team control left (not for anyone with one-year left on current deal). Said there are very few players that meet criteria and so far does not have a "dance partner".

On selecting #2: Montreal has a decision to make, they have played out scenarios from there.

On Miller, DeBrincat: When asked about both JT Miller and Alex DeBrincat, he reiterated that he is keeping the #2 pick.

On Kevin Fiala: He had some basic discussions, but Guerin locked in early with one team.

On RFAs: All will get qualifying offers. Bratt, Boqvist, Thompson, Wood, Zacha and Zetterlund will all get qualified.

On big UFAs: He will try to find value. He believes if healthy, NJD already has one of the better offensive teams in NHL. They have mapped out some potential holes (like goaltending) they would like to address. They want players who want to be here.

On Goalies: Blackwood is returning and has full confidence in him. Bernier still long way away. They plan to add another goalie.

On Luke Hughes: He will attend Devils camp, but plan is one more year at Michigan.

On Sharangovich: He is in USA and will stay here.

- 2nd overall pick will be made

- Some UFAs expected (value guys, who want to be in NJ and fill holes)
