1) Faber has committed to playing his junior year at college but will very likely sign his ELC next offseason. So there is no point in signing him this early.
2) Likewise, Khusnutdinov is signed in the KHL through next year and the year after that. So we won't be able to sign him for at least the next two years. It would be pointless to sign him as well.
3) You are both overpaying in assets and AAV for someone like Adin Hill. He isn't worth either prospect strait up or more than a league minimum contract at this point. San Jose is taking either of those prospects and running for the hills before Guerin wakes the bleep up and realizes how badly he messed up.
I would much rather go after Vitek Vanecek from the Capital's instead who's had better numbers in his professional career and would fit us better than Hill ever would and who's a total question mark given his injury prone tendency. You can also sign Vanecek for less than $2M per as well.
3) Why are we moving up that high only to grab a friggin winger in Ostlünd? I mean, I can see the appeal, and I'm not trying to disparage his obvious talent. The only reason why Judd should be moving up is one of the centers fall. Namely... Savoie, Kasper, or Nazar.
Corey Pronman mocked us getting both Nazar at 19 and McGroarty at 24. Which would be a dream come true if it happened that way. So it may be more prudent to stay where we are depending on how the first round shakes out. But if either Savioe or Kasper fall out of the top ten, by all means, trade up to get them. But they're the only two I would really consider it for, as Nazar might just drop into our laps at 19.
Also don't use both 1st's to do it. Save one of them and that's when you deal a prospect like Hunt packaged with one of the two 1st's to move up. In particular the Isles are so desperately in need of talent in their prospect pool they need scoring forwards and LHD.... Pronto. Hunt and say the 19th should be enough for them to consider moving 13th OVA.
