You don't read many articles, do you? If Scuds gets traded, it will be to Colorado or Arizona. This is just one option.

What articles are you referring to? Seriously, I'm actually interested.

I still can't imagine Tim Erixon is enough incentive to get a team to take on Scuderi.

Probably that phish-wrap Hockey Press. Pretty sure their writers room is literally full of monkeys and typewriters.

Pretty sure the hockey press has 0 credibility... Still, I find myself checking out the ridiculous rumors on that site once a day. At least it's somewhat entertaining squinty smile

Trading Scuderi to Colorado, Arizona, or Carolina makes sense cause because Pittsburg needs the cap space.

Trading JVR from Toronto to Chicago, Florida or Nashville for virtually nothing makes sense cause the Leafs are trying to tank so they are can get a better lottery pick

Free agents Stamkos, Seabrook, Koptitar will sign with Arizona, Carolina or New Jersey. This makes sense cause all teams have to spend to the cap.

New category for ditching contracts.....LTIR, for whatever reason. Chicago Black Hawk Management and Patrick Kane invented the "criminal story" in Buffalo, so the Hawks can put Kane on LTIR (Long Term In Restraints) for a few months so the Hawks can get below the salary cap. Kane can stay home and watch the Bills till Christmas.

But it doesn't make sense for those teams to acquire Scuderi. Why would they want him? Arizona and Carolina have budgets below the cap ceiling. They're not paying $3.6m for a guy that can't play. There are plenty of those for cheaper.

And Scuderi isn't going to waive his NTC to go to some basement dwelling team anyways. Most likely scenario is he's a Penguin this season; even if it's as a healthy scratch. Unlikely they assign him to the AHL even though it'd clear almost $1m in cap space. Even less likely, he is traded (Buffalo is most probabe candidate IMO).

Mr. D D: I agree with you completely. My first comment was sarcastic, aimed at Armchair GMs would wish their problems away. Almost every team has some contract problem with some players. Scuds at $ 3.4 million a year for two years isn't super bad. Imagine the Leafs dilemma with Phanuef, $ 7 million a year for 6 more years.
