Duclair just suffered an Achilles injury that requires surgery. Panthers are most likely putting him on LTIR this offseason and he probably won’t play most of next season.

What exactly is the point behind that Fehervary for Allan trade? Seriously curious. Don't think I've ever seen an established rookie get traded for a prospect 3 years younger than him who plays the same position.

I would agree, with the opposite reaction from Chicago. Why would we trade our 1st round pick from the previous draft? Doesnt really serve to help the rebuild, and doesnt really serve to help a currently competing Washington. Doesnt really help anyone.

I mean Fehervary is now what Chicago hopes Allan will be in 3 years. Clear loss for the caps, for who Fehervary on his ELC is maybe their second most untouchable player

Aaaaaaah

Noooooo

Not Martin Fehervary, the second greatest Martin in caps history!

In all seriousness though, Fehervary isn’t going anywhere. He’s young, a key part of the team, and his cap hit is great. Also, Snives is a Nova native and Lavs likes him so I don’t think he’s going anywhere either. That said, I’d still love that deal for Washington, Duclair’s worth way more than Snives and a fourth.

Well exactly. If we are in a rebuild, why would we trade our prospect, who we have high hopes for, for a guy of similar position and stature but is 3 years accelerated in his timeline? We have Murphy, McCabe, Jones, Stillman, the worse Jones, we're not exactly struggling to find guys to fill spots right now. A rebuilding team isnt going to trade a guy they picked in the first round a year ago, and a competing team isnt going to trade an established young defenseman. It just doesnt work for either side.
