Serious question: whoooooo's backing up Jonathan Quick next year? 'cause it ain't Jeff Zatkoff, and I don't think it should be Jack Campbell, either, and the Kings have literally nobody else besides that in their entire organizational depth chart. Any good suggestions (either through free agency or trade, as those are really their 2 best options) would be welcome.

Take a shot at Kinkaid or Bernier.

Those are the two most likely backups but they probably will sign somebody like Garon or Budaj... There a few AHL goalies like Dell was the backup for Sharks last season. Kings big problem is not having right shooting D-men. Look at the Coyotes protecting Schenn who Kings could have had for 1.25M probably in cap hit... Him along with trading for a guy like Schultz before the Penguins, Petry before Montreal or even Cody Franson would have helped... They could have signed Franson for around 3M giving about 4.25M for two right shooting D to play behind Drew while giving Ladue a chance to break into lineup too. There a lot of guys who could sign from KHL or other leagues like how Tim Thomas came back to NHL to win a Cup or Backstrom being a quality goalie for Wild. Problem is they will likely take a 833K cap hit if buyout Greene which could have been used to get a backup especially factoring in Mike Richards cap hit etc. Zatkoff was good enough to win a game in Post Season when Penguins got handed their first cup in this back to back sports entertainment spectacle smile. Campbell is probably going to be the guy since he was a former 1st overall that was once touted. Problem is all the Kings goalies are injury prone to point any of them can go down in warmups. Maybe Berube comes back, there lots of options when it comes to goal though a bit less with Vegas coming into league. Bernier had a cap hit of a starting goalie so I don't see him coming here. Kinkaid shut out LA in a game that cost me in fantasy hockey once... So that would be interesting to have. Scoring goals is the bigger worry when Matt Cullen at 40+ has more goals than Kopitar making 10M in cap hit per year smile.

BTW Justin Peters is probably the only other goalie with NHL experience the Kings could bring into camp to compete that hasn't been named thus far smile. Kinkaid, Peters, Berube are basically the 3 options if Zatkoff, Campbell don't pan out who have some NHL experience that LA could afford. Those who might be sub 1M in cap hit, so hope Quick can play 48 games or expect a long season smile...
