if Colorado loses tonight it's not happening

This roster is probably unaffordable the following year. I would also be hesitatnt about Braun for an entire season. I like the idea of trading for Ethan Bear in that slot. It keeps true to the team identity. The Avs have possible internal playoff additions in Olaussen, Behrens, and two other D in DZ and Aamodt right now. Also still Kaut if they ever want to give him a shot. Sakic should keep his long term contracts down and continue trading picks and prospects for rentals. I do like bringing Cogs and Helmer back bc they can coast the reg season and turn it up for playoffs, all for dirt cheap. I also am curious about Annunen and wonder if Sakic lets Kuemper walk. Avs could go cheap on Husso for like two years or MAF for just the one season. Even if Kuemper pulls it out, I'm still not sold on him for three or four more years.

Yeah that last bit has been on my mind a lot lately too. The Avs haven’t been winning or losing because of Kuemper so why should they commit big resources to him is the question I think Sakic is asking himself as well.
