Description
If Clarke isn't ready than substitute him with Spence or Faber if he's ready. Id keep Roy also but Id much rather have the lineup that's showed and have the kids develop. That's the approach I took and same with the forward lines. I hope Todd and the Rob Blake make the decision to play the kids more. Also A line with 2 LA kids on it would be lit in my mind:)

If the Leafs have the cap room, I’d do it.

I think y'all would if the proper trades are made. Iafallo is a beast 2 way forward and would fit nice on the top 2 lines as a guy who goes and gets the puck or play him on the 3rd line with Kampf and another beast and that would create such a good line. They're maybe another pick y'all would throw in but it would be a 3rd or later.

The Kings will not trade Matt Roy. They'd trade Durzi, Walker, and Spence before Roy. Once Faber signs and gets a season under his belt, the Kings can consider moving on from Roy.

Brandt Clarke will not be in the NHL next season.

I can see that but from what I saw from Durzi in the playoffs, it would be hard to trade him like it would be for Roy. I just went with the younger approach and hopefully they let these kids develop. As a kid, he was playing 20+ min while being good on both sides. Yes there were some growing pains but all young dman have some sort of learning experience to do when it comes to the playoffs. As for Clarke, I expected that but just the overall makeup of that dcore for the future is going to be insane if that’s what it looks like

The problem is that guys like Durzi, Grans, Walker, Clarke, and Spence are all offense-first guys that are questionable, if not outright liabilities in their own zone.

Matt Roy is a defense-first guy. He has some limited offensive upside (his shot is above average), but he's never going to put up 10g/40p in a season. That's not his game. Brock Faber, like Roy, is a exceptional defensive defenseman. Faber has more offensive upside than Roy does, so if he continues to develop as he is, he could turn into a quality two-way guy. However, as of now, he's a defense-first guy. Until Faber is ready, Roy is not expendable.

If Clarke becomes the player that everyone hopes he is (think Erik Karlsson), there won't be room on the team for Durzi or Spence.

Once we trade away our 2022 first for Chychrun, a trade with Toronto for their first and Robertson makes sense. Iafallo is fine but I'd give the Maple Leafs either another draft pick (for which they are desperate) or one of Spence or Grans. Roy is a huge overpay along with Iafallo.

You have the amounts to Anderson and Durzi too high. Anderson will be around 3.5 and Durzi 2.5

Erik Karlsson wasn't Erik Karlsson at age 18.
