I'm with you for trading Nylander for cap space to fill out the lineup.
There might not be a goalie in exchange for Nylander in a trade. But if a team would trade to the Leafs a draft pick or prospect the Leafs clear themselves of 7m....minus the cost of a RW replacement (who obviously won't be as good as Nylander, and then have cap to the goalie position.

Bobrovsky, Merzlikins. Not many teams looks to trade their starting (most likely star) goalie

$7M does not get a sufficient Nylander replacement + a good enough goalie to justify trading Nylander.

Well I personally think that they’re great replacements for Willy in FA like a Nichushkin or Rodrigues who both can do everything while being physical, good defensively and we would still save money for other pieces. I would want Muzzin traded more cause of that 5.625M cap hit and our team would look so much better with a well rounded out lineup. Depth is key and thats why those 2 are players Id look to trade to fill out the roster better

I think you missed the point....of course you can never find a player to replace Nylander....if you trade him for picks or ELC
But th option is 7m Nylander and a 2m goalie. or 2m RW and a 5m goalie. Gee, by the cap the Leafs can't have both 7m Nylander and a 5m goalie

Well you're right on the well roundness of the lineup so looks llke Nylander has to go. But NTC 5.6 Muzzin really can't be traded.
