Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Miller stays on the 5x8.5 agreed upon when the trade happens in the previous year.

Dumo is let go as POJ takes a top 4 role and Leddy or some other similar type player is plugged into the 6th d-man spot on a relatively cheap deal.

Jarry is re-upped at a slight raise with Griess brought in on a 1 year deal as a stop gap until Lindberg/Blomqvist are ready to take over as backup.

Young guys like Nylander, O'Connor, Puustinen and Poulin are given the chance to fight for a couple spots as the Pens need some youthful energy and some production on cheap contracts.

The money left after Carter leaves at the end of the season can be used to resign Guentzel and a young guy can take his spot on the 4th line. And by that time one of Lindberg or Blomqvist should be ready to take over as the backup.

Why would it stay there? The NHL just had a record season in terms of revenue and there's no reason that would change next year as COVID continues to fade and all the Major TV deals stay in place?

I believe it is supposed to be 83.5. I think I read that somewhere

There's no shot it stays. It's already been stagnant for a few years and they're back to making money

He was just a bonus signing if you could afford him for the year until a guy like Poulin, O'Connor or Puustinen are ready to fill a spot. Money in 2024 needs to be saved if you are going to resign Miller, unless you can find a way to offload Carter so I only signed him for the 1 year. Could maybe bring him back if you could find a cheaper 3rd pair LHD too.

Nobody knows for sure on the Cap, but I’m very clear that in the press conference Bettman just had at the Finals is that the Players have not paid the owners back all of the money they owe them so that the cap will remain flat at 82.5 for two years unless drastic changes occur.
