JA is a more unique player than JVR as well. There are not many players around the league who combine toughness, speed, hitting and skill. The three others that come to mind are Wildon, Kreider and Kane. I know all 3 are more productive but they are pretty much the only other 3 with the same skill sets.

Yeah, the problem with those comparisons is that sure, he does all of those things, but those 3 have done it succesfully for a number of years, whereas Anderson did it reasonably well once, 4 years ago.

All of that being said, GM's have a history of doing fooooooolish things, and it won't surprise me when someone saves the Habs from the last 5 years of that contract. Not saying that he's *bad*, just saying that it's a scary contract, especially with his injury history.

The Caps are looking for LW scoring help but only have 8 mil cap to do it especially with Backstrom potentially out long term. Luke I said they probably need to send back cap to make it work but the need is there.

The bidding war for Hoffman was one team. And Montreal is very happy with Hoffman. They'd never trade him.

I think you need to check again, with Petry you have 7 D signed and I included Robertson and Ottinger as the 2 biggest needs to resign. With them you would have 1 goalie and 12 forwards signed so to fill out your roster you only need 2 more forwards and a backup\tandem goalie with 13 Mil ish left after getting Petry that would certainly be enough to fill out your roster and resign Robertson and Ottinger.
