Description
Before y’all get mad I have no clue on what the value is on the NJ players so I have no clue if it’s close. If it is yay but if not how far off am I or did I overpay?

One of the biggest issues here is that Kerfoot was drafted and developed by the Devils and he sat out a year so he wouldn't have to play for us. He's burned bridges here and is not coming back.

Both teams decline and for the love of God stop trading Kerfoot to NJD. Nylander is better than each and every guy you traded for and New Jersey isn't giving up 3 useful, young Roster players

Fair enough, Would yall do Zacha and Sharangovich for willy? Or am I close. I like to try to be realistic

I’ve never seen a kerfoot trade to NJ. But we get 2 young players and we’ll be able to have more depth all around the lineup. I want a centre in return especially if we move JT to wing

In a heartbeat. Willy is the best player in the deal. Sharangovich may pot 30 next to JT or Matthews though- he’s a beast

Bet. I thought he had a higher ceiling then that but if that’s true what his point total’s will be around next year, I wouldn’t do it.

There's a good chance Zacha isn't qualified as his arbitration award may be more than the devils want to pay him. If that's even a remote possibility, the Leafs could very well work out a smaller deal for Zacha alone. Still don't see it though.

Kerfoot was drafted by NJD but he never played there. Sour relationship and considering he also has a M-NTC, he probably has no desire of going there again

This might not be the answer you want but to be honest it's complicated. I think the Devils are shopping for a big splash and if they can't get a Debricat or one of the Calgary guys I would be open to this even though I absolutely love Sharangovich. The thing is I am the wrong person to ask because I sort of hate Zacha's game. He's listed as a center but is much better off as a wing. He's a streaky scorer that can score 5 on 5 when he's on but plays no defense and is invisible most of the game. If I was Toronto and looking to pick off one of the young talented centers on this team I would rather have Jesper Boqvist. His stock is a little down because of being a late bloomer he flashes a ton of potential and may be a better player than Zacha right now. He was quietly a .5 point per game player to end the season and started getting some consistency. At his cap hit and probably not due for a big raise he'd be an ask for any devils trade throw in.

A) He played four years at Harvard, the Devils didn’t develop him.
B) He never sat out a year.
C) He used the rule the same year that Butcher did, but you probably have no problem with that part.

There’s reasons to not want Kerfoot, but this ain’t it.

He did not want to play for the Devils after they offered him a contract in the 3rd year at Harvard and elected to go back for a year instead of turning pro and made it clear he had no intention to play for the Devils. Yes this is the same route Boucher or Vesey took and neither are likely to go to Colorado or Nashville anytime soon.
