Easy decline for the Isles. They are in win now mode and removing a low priced RD on an expiring contract does not help them. Beau can bring back value on his own. Broberg isn't even a top 50 ranked prospect at this point.

Lou is a wild card, he's all IN with Barzal after firing Trotz. He's gunning for a wingman like Gaudreau/Forsberg. They have to move money, Beau hasnt worked despite the great fancy stats much like Puljujarvi has been a dud with finishing but you'd think he was elite when you look at his metrics. Oilers fans know they are selling at a loss with Puljujarvi, you Isles fans continually overrate Beau because of fancy stats, he's not getting a better return than this. Maybe adding a cheap bottom pair D is too much but this is certainly close in value for a team desperately looking to alleviate cap to go hunting in free agency. Oilers cant attract these free agents like NY, this trade suits their window. Win-Win

Beau is worth more than a low ranked prospect and third round pick. Beau might be traded for cap space, but the return would be greater.

Mayfield is worth more than a low ranked prospect and third round pick. Trading Mayfield creates a big hole at RD and it would cost more than 1.5mm to fill so any space gained from trading away Beau would be eaten by a replacement RD.

Broberg isnt listed in the top 50 prospects by TSN or SportsNet. - that was the standard I was using. I understand he is highly ranked within EDM's prospect pool and would immediately hop towards the top of the Isles prospect pool. Either way, Broberg and a 3rd pick dont help the Isles in the near term and Mayfield alone can return a 1st rd pick + (e.g., Broberg +) and Beau is an enigmatic former 1st round pick so giving him up for a former 1st round and a 3rd rounder would be palatable if the Isles were in rebuild mode

Broberg is 7th. Dont see any list where Broberg is outside the top50 and low ranked prospect comment is baseless.

Beauvilier was just put on Frank Seravalli's top targets list a day after i had him here. He's being talked about as cap relief and not much more. You are way off!

No, not really....Valve isn't close. Isles and GM are trying to win now. Moving 2 big pieces for the upcoming year for Broberg?

I hear Isles fans saying Robin Salo is a solution on the left side this year and they are terrified of another year with Greene. Philip Broberg, LHD, a much better prospect, isnt an asset for the coming year? You had two 40 year olds last year on the left side (Greene 39) Seems addressing a problem and clearing cap space isnt just a good idea but also necessary

That is your opinion. But you didnt show anything to make it seem legitimate. Beau value is low at the moment, Mayfield though cheap is bottom pair. Broberg is a legit prospect that you clearly dont know when I hear many isles fans saying Robin Salo is a solution this season. I am simply using Isles fans own logic against them. I see none of yours

This is by all means an overpayment from the Oilers to give up on Broberg. An all IN move for this season that doesnt come without risk.

The guy who has been the isles best playoff performer over the past 3 years hasn’t worked out? Lol. He does have good analytics but he’s also a clutch player and produces at a solid rate at even strength. Is it possible he gets moved? It’s not likely but it’s possible. Seravelli never implied Beau is a cap dump , the isles do not have to move him.

Robin Salo is entering his age 24 season , has been on an upward trajectory over the past two seasons and he plays a game that fits what the isles need on the 2nd pair with Dobson. High floor player that can skate and move the puck with a high hockey IQ.

And, I still laugh.
What a great GM! I cant wait for what he does here when capped out again fishing for UFAs. If you think you're getting Broberg instead of 2nds for players not close to Toews in talent lol. Lou has clearly showed he will ship out players for nothing to fit in his favourties.
