It's definitely interesting but Marner is the best player in the deal and I'm not sure the return is enough with our first and Sandin heading the other way maybe something like Hamilton and 2nd OA for Marner and a prospect like Kral or kokkonen and forget the devil's second and leafs first.

I wanted Dougie on the Devils for YEARS and you will not take him from me now.

I agree it's a big cost. Especially since I believe Sandin is a top 4 player now and could be more soon. But not just getting Hamilton, getting a possible elite player on a cheap deal. The downgrade at forward imo is more than offset by the upgrade at D.

I don't know if that's the case, Hamilton is great but I don't think Hamilton and slaf outweigh Marner, Sandin and what our first could get us in a trade of its own in a WAR perspective

It would certainly be a big bet. I just think Toronto can't keep the status quo yet again. And while I'm in the extreme minority, I think marner choked hard again the 3rd playoffs in a row. 2 primary points in last 5 games and 1 on PP.

Yeah I wouldn't say he choked, he played really really well regardless of points. But I do agree they can't stay status quo, something needs to change.

He played really really well on PK. But the last 5 games his stick was where plays went to die. 3rd year in a row.
