Key here is to not get too crazy after being swept by that monstrosity in Colorado. As a Wings fan, I know the frustrations Ken Holland can cause so I hope he doesn't Frans Nielsen you guys by overreacting to losing. All these deals are shorter term to get the most out of the last years of McDavid/Drais contracts and manage the cap space.

Bridge deals for Pulj/Yamo/McLeod. The whole right side with Pulj/Yamo/Holloway is interchangeable, see who meshes best and roll with it.

Resign Kane to 3x$5m. Puts him UFA same time as Drai, plus hopefully short enough where he doesnt get himself in trouble again.

Sign Nick Paul 3x$2.25m. Not sure if that enough but its all they have. I really like his game, offense isnt anything special but he's a competitor.

Assume LTIR for Klefbom because I can't find anything recently saying otherwise.

3way trade with Pit/Ari:
Pit: 3rd rd pick for Petterson. Saw this trade 1000x with the Wings but think it makes sense here too. He'd be a solid partner for Bouchard or Barrie in the top 4. Pit gets the cap space they want/need. He can more than hold his own in a shut down role 20min a night.

Ari: 1st round pick for taking Keith contract and retaining $1m on Petterson for 3yrs. This might be too much but Edm is running out of picks...

My only concern left is the goalie situation. If Smith isnt working out, maybe they do what Colorado did and trade the 1st for a goalie thats cheap but very solid.
