McIssac? Had a solid season in GR last year and is probably Detroit’s most NHL ready LD prospect.

Ehh, he's certainly less ready than Ed and Jo, and has a ceiling of a 4/5 Dman. I'd say he's got very little value.

I didn’t consider Ed because I already view him as being on the team next year. But yeah Ed is definitely above him. There’s certainly an argument for Jo as well, especially with his potential upside. That said, I do think McIsaac has bottom 4 potential.

He'd likely never play an NHL game in NJ. We're already logjammed when it comes to left-handed defencemen.

Would an equal level forward prospect like Savage or Tyutyayev with the picks do it for ya?

Going to need a better piece than mcisaac in there. Maybe someone like mazur or neiderback.

I agree McIsaac's shoulders are just like Fabbri's knees.

He had a ton of potential but has had both of his shoulders surgically repaired since being drafted.

We'd have to give them something better than McIsaac. Would we add Zadina? Veleno? Rasmussen? Yzerman is more likely to trade players Holland drafted over his own guys he drafted.

I think the Devils are interested in guys like Wright, Cooley, Slaf, Nemec or Jiricek, so to go from 2nd to 8th would mean missing out on one of those guys and I don't see the need for the Devils to gain more assets and get a lesser prospect at 8. They need quality prospects and don't need the added quantity that a trade like this would be. If anything I see them: a. trading the pick for an established star or in a package for an established star. b. trading down to no more than number 5 if they like the guys listed above pretty equally and another team offers us a really good deal in order to do it. c. keep the pick and draft who they want (very much the most likely outcome). We've had so many draft picks over the past couple of years that I just don't see the need to acquire more quantity.
