You're joking, right? Myers is still a #4 defenseman. We're taking back Khudobin's dead cap, and then retaining further. Dallas is only taking on ~1m in cap and they get the far superior player at this point for only a 3rd. There's no chance we're moving Myers at no financial savings just to get a 3rd.

I like the base idea of this trade if the money is right. I'd be hesitant at even 1.5m savings because we still need to find a replacement dman, and we won't find one at 1.5m who is better than Myers. People constantly think that just because he is overpaid that he sucks, when really he is a competent minute eater whose mistakes get blown out of proportion.

I'm not the Canucks, but I'd accept this trade if there was only 1m retained.

Why do you think? they aould be getting a 99 point player making around 2 million dollars! If the rangers do not want to give up Schnieder this is the price.

Future top 4 defenseman, Kravtzov and Othmann who are good in their own right, a 1st and a 2nd in a ridiculously deep class for a rental guy. They're not at the end of their window, they say no.

He is a bottom of the barrel WAR defenseman, he’s one of the least effective defenseman in even strength defense value and pk in the whole NHL. He does provide a little offensive value but enough to be that interesting. Canucks would be a lot better if he was even somewhat effective when he is on the ice but he is not. Minute eater is not a good thing at all if they struggle against high QOC (Myers does) and provide negative value when on the ice.

I don't think Dallas does this. With Khudobin's latest injury, it's entirely possible that he ends up on LTIR and retires like Bishop did. If that's the case, there's no need to pay to move him.

Rangers didn't offer that much prior to the TDL, so they would only offer less now. I bet the max Drury would offer is (Chytil OR Kravstov) + (1st round pick OR Lundqvist) + a late round pick. If the Canucks don't like that, ok, they can keep Miller or trade him elsewhere.

WAR is also a useless stat in this league. He and OEL had a very effective even strength performance this year in terms of goals against. Most of his previous issues were part of our bad defensive structure which was resolved on the coaching change.

You can keep Kravstov lol, but that's just me. I see him as negative value. If our direction is to start fresh, I'd consider Chytil+Lundkvist+1st still. I think our issue is finding out hte teams direction, not the value of the trade.

I personally am over trying to trade for Miller to be honest with you. He wasn't the same player here that he is in VAN. Bad habits tend to follow when you resurface in bad environments. 99 points is incredible and VAN should ask for a good package but it's so much more risky for us than any other team. Also hard time making that cap work unless VAN retained 50%.
