Where do I sign??

Tom Wilson is the future Captain of the WSH Capitals.

Tbh I feel like Wilson has more value as he brings more aspects to the team than Nylander ik Nylander is great in all but Wilson is exactly what they need so they might be the second going the other way

I agree, Wilson likely has more value than Nylander even though he is not as skilled. He is likely the only untouchable on the caps other than big man.

Only red flag for me is the Lucic factor. Wilson is 28, has played nearly 750 games in the NHL and had several stints on the injured list. He plays very physical and that takes a toll and could mean a steep drop off in play in the next few years. Lucic signed at 28 with Edmonton - he had one 20+ goal season and then a drop off in play

Wilson's obviously got the ACL right now, but before that he's very rarely been injured. The only other significant injury he had was hurting his ankle skateboarding in the summer of 2014, and besides that it's just been a game or two here and there. I think he might actually have missed more games due to suspension than injury since he came into the league.

One thing he has in his favor compared to most power forwards is he's a fantastic skater, and I think usually with these PFs that fall off rapidly in their 30s it's cause they weren't great skaters to begin with so they can't afford to lose a step. Wilson could lose a step and still be an average skater. I think he's gonna age better than guys like Lucic and Penner, or at least I thought that prior to the ACL reconstruction. That definitely muddles things.
