Description
If Shea Webber was on the trading block, I would consider trading Evgeni Malkin to reunite him with James Neal.

Malkin for Weber may be a fair deal, though I think Nashville would want more. Then you try to steal Ellis and Wilson from the Preds and make them take Scuderi?
Both Weber and Malkin have bloated contracts now. What are they going to look like in a few years as they hit their mid thirties.

Weber has already started his decline. And his contact runs for a long time.

Malkin for Weber isn't even close to being fair for the Penguins. Weber has and will decline much more than Geno, besides the fact that Malkin is a top 3 center and Weber is no longer a top 5 Dman in this league.

Malkin's contract is... bloated? Toews gets 10 mil and he's never even hit 80 points, let alone 100. I don't know why I even bothered responding to this tbh

Mr Russian: Malkin is a top three center on the Penguins not in the NHL. Crosby, Malkin Datsyk, Tavaros,Getzalk,Kopitar,Toews,Backstrom,Giroux,Johnson,Johanson,Pavelski,Stamkos. Hard to put Malkin top eight now. Admitting Toews may be overpaid, but isn't Malkin at 9.5m a year? Malkin has the forth lowest plus minus of the top 20 scoring centers. Lowest face off winning % of the top 20 scoring centres. He is a good player and a very good power play specialist. Talk about Weber's decline. Trying to keep Malkin on the ice for a full season has been a challenge recently.

I will agree on the Scuderi comment and see if I can come up with a more even trade. I really don't want to trade Malkin, but feel the Pens need more toughness on there Team and if the Preds were looking to trade Weber, Malkin would be perfect as he already showed great chemistry with James Neal. The Preds would be willing to include one of there Centers' because they would be getting a no 1 center in Malkin. Let's try this: Malkin, Perron ( 9.5 + 3,812,500 = 13,312,500 )for Weber, Wilson and a 2nd round pick ( 7,857,143 + 3,937,500 = 11,794.643 ). Pens would save $1,517,857.00 on this years cap.
