Description
Let's be honest, it's rare that an incumbent GM blows up his own roster or at least to the extent that we probably need to reload the roster. The only caveat to this is if Gagliardi mandates the changes, but so far he has stayed pretty hands off. My guess is if Nill sticks around, you can expect Benn, Faksa, Seguin and Suter to stay and Klinger to maybe be re-signed.

This is what I would hope we do if a new GM comes in or if Gagliardi wants major changes...

Also, I put Khudobin on LTIR because he did have season ended surgery and there's a chance he calls it a career.

I’m down with adding value to get the deal done but your basically asking for our top prospect. Idk that i do that.

The value of Lindell isn't high considering that VGK, PIT, WPG (and a few more teams) are all in cap hell and are all offering LD dirt cheap (a 3rd or 4th round pick) this offseason.

The value of Bertuzzi is sky high (to Detroit), he scores almost a point per game and he plays both wings equally well as well as playing both PP and PK. For a comparison of his trade value see the Mantha for Vrána deal and then start adding.

Detroit isn't afraid of losing him to UFA either as both Bert and Yzerman have publicly stated their desire to extend as soon as is allowed after the 1st of July.

Brother, who do you think is taking Burns at 37yo at 8m for 3 more years without y’all taking a contract back?? That’s how that works. You’ve 3 terrible D contracts, you’re swapping one out for a forward K here.

My guy Vlasic and Karlsson are the unmovable ones. Burns isn’t. Yes he’s 37 but this year played on a bad team, lead the league in minutes played, and was 12th in D-man scoring. I don’t expect most teams to be able to take on Burns’ full cap but making it work would look like the Sharks retaining 1-2 million max or us taking back Khudobin. Or maybe getting a third party involved to retain some $$. Taking on Seguin without dumping an actually bad contract like Vlasic or EK65 would be disastrous and would defeat the point of trading Burns in the first place.

With an extension he's 100% worth a top center prospect. We don't need Lindell Detroit's LD prospects are just as good and close to NHL ready.

I never said he should be traded for Lindell. I said giving up top center prospects for older wingers shouldn’t ever be considered. If Bowness stays and Segs is our 2C, Tuzzi will struggle to score 50. We might as well grab a winger in free agency and keep our assets

Every planet that plays hockey? He's a PPG player on a really bad team, plays an excellent defensive game and plays with a grit and physicality that most teams covet.

That trade honestly could be Forsberg for Erat bad. Y’all are crazy

I live in Chi, Strome and Kubalik are not being re-signed. People aren’t happy about it. I’m fine with adding but his value isn’t what you think it is considering he’s leaving.

I'm on the east coast now a bit north of Boston. But I grew up in IL and lived in CHI for a while too. I love Scott Powers but he is no guru. Don't take everything he says as gospel. Kubalik may walk but Strome isn't just going to be let go for nothing. That would just be stupid. And they have plenty of time between the official end of the season and their signing deadline to figure it out. Regardless, your offer is not fair value. Dallas would definitely be adding the better pick in that scenario and Hanley has no value. His faceoff percentage is with the best top 6 centers in the league, he thrives in top line minutes and can hang with high skill players. His issues with past seasons were mismanagement, low and behold Davidson and King put him back on the top line and he is producing. Just proves how poorly managed he was by Bowman and Colliton. He put up almost 50 points after only a half a season being consistently in a top line role. He will put up 50 points or more if given that opportunity anywhere in the league. His "lack of defense" was a sham and a lack of confidence perpetuated by that mismanagement. He is absolutely worth more than your proposed trade. I'm not saying he is some top offensive force in the league, but he is easily a 2C on a good team and could pretty easily argue for a $4.5-5mil aav. And if CHI gave him that amount and he puts up 50 points or more next season teams will be making much better offers at the trade deadline and next summer.
