Yes they do. Poolman is a cap dump and 3 years at 2.5 costs a lot more than a 4th for 6th swap

He's not a cap dump to the extend that you think he is. Cap dumps aren't an exact science

Together is a tough trade but they need to meet the cap floor. Dickinson likely will play up the lineup in AZ, similar to the Boyd going from barely 4th line to .5 ppg. Poolman gives them depth on the right side. AZ has maybe 4 RHD who can play in the AHL or above.

Cap is the most valuable commodity in the tight cap NHL structure. They could take on a contract like Monahan (return a high pick) instead of getting a 4th for a 6th for multiple yrs of a bad 5.1M dollars.
