Who knows. I think they hire Trotz. Imo they shouldn’t do anything too crazy. They have a ton of really good young guys coming up. Only a matter of time but what else is there to do but overreact. I think Wilson would be an amazing fit for TML but that can be true for 29’other teams as well

Idk he’s been well behaved. I agree but I guess I depends on how much you value cap space. For the price of Marner you can have Wilson and Nichushkin. Marner 100% is the better player but idk if you can trade as JT and Nylander contract is actually really solid. Idk what guy you move to upgrade elsewhere.

you dont trade guys like Marner for cap space to maybe do other things with. You trade them for max value or you dont trade them. As far as Wilson being more behaved.....i want more than 8 months without an incident before i start believing that

8 months feels like a long time TBH. I think you need to decide if you can win w this current core and if you can’t (haven’t yet) you need to make a change and bring in some new blood.

The core demonstrated this year that they are good enough. You dont take a team like tampa to 7 games and lose by one goal if you arnt.

Tampa looked gassed. Tbh I doubt they win a game next series. I thought the Leafs should have handled them in 5-6 games. Vas is a monster but I expected more from the Leafs.

Elite Goaltending and being gifted multiple top pair caliber D made up for his brutal lineup decisions. Trotz cares more about making his veteran players feel comfortable than winning.

Stars decline, the reason they don’t want to re-sign Klingberg is because they don’t want to pay him 8 million. Carlson is basically an exact replicas of him. Rather re-sign Klingberg than pay a massive package for Carlson, you get basically the same thing.
