If they had traded for him before the draft last year then they could have worked the future cap much differently. When Eichel was traded the cap was unworkable for MN.

No real interest in Dvorak. His cap hit is too much to work well with MN.

If he's the player he was to end the season in MTL he's interesting. If he's the player he was the rest of the season in MTL he's not interesting. With the huge amount of dead cap that isn't a gamble I'd take.

This season, most players underperformed under Ducharme, and started being good again when Martin St-Louis came in. Dvorak, Caufield, and Petry are all good example.

MTL could keep Dvorak and raise his value back to a 1st and 2nd before trading him, but with Wright coming in and Poehling deserving 3rd line, we won't have a spot for Dvorak anymore.
