I guess in this scenario he keeps Chicagos first which could be Jiricek, Kemell, Nazar etc, and he trades for Fiala meaning they either get two very good wingers, or an elite winger in Fiala and a good RD prospect in Jiricek

I would probably lean towards keeping #2 and taking Cooley, Nemec or Slafkovsky

Those are legit awesome trades. I doubt Columbus would do that, even if it works off the chart. But maybe if you switched the 3rd to a 2nd and added a player/prospect…

3rd pairing a bit unproven perhaps but Smith could bounce back and chances are that one of Bahl, Okhotiuk, Walsh and Mukhammadulin are ready for a regular job in the NHL come October.
Still feel like that's a lot of value going back to Minny, think you could snatch Fiala a bit more cheaply.



Personally I rate Slaf and Nemec just the same as Jiricek.
With OP's trickery you get Jiricek (hopefully) + Fiala and Talbot, that's probably worth passing on Cooley, Slaf and Nemec.

Interesting. Watching Slaf at the Olympics really got me excited about him. He was NHL ready as a 17 year old which is crazy
