Severson will cost more. I like the Minnesota trade ... but I really dont know why everyone wants Kovy back. He cost us so much, and he just left after coule of years with the Devils. He can be good as **** but I dont want him in my team. Also Lou Lamoriello has to aproove his return to NHL and I dont see that coming. If does, sign him and trade him ...

Incorrect on the lou lams part.
That only happens if kovy decides to play elsewhere without going through the devs. All the GMs need to approve, Shero would say no then.

We own his rights, he can sign with us with no other issues. This is where we trade him.

He's going to negotiate a salary and term, we're going negotiate the return and he will play for that team

Only other option for kovy is to wait gor the following season and he can sign anywhere ans that makes no sense, plus he's 35 and his contract terms change

Kovalchuk actually cost us less than people claim. We lost a 3rd rounder, and because Lou didn't forfeit #29, we slid back from #10(ish) to #30 when we were granted that pick back. When he left, the salary recapture we faced was minimal ($250k per season vs MUCH more down the road). Believe it or not, he did the organization a favor when he left, it was poor signings by Lou that set the team back a few years when they should have already began the rebuild.

This team looks pretty good. I don't think Camm and a 2nd gets Scandella. I don't see an aging forward that requires expansion protection to be the piece that entices Minnesota. A young forward that is exempt from the draft is a piece that is going to likely be required for them to entertain the deal. Also, I think that Shattenkirk signing will be a major regret for more than 1/2 of his contract. I think Severson is the right signing and dollar value, but I expect to lose Moore in the expansion, unfortunately.
