The caps aren’t trading Wilson unless it’s a massive overpay

Sandin and Willie at 30% retained is an overpay.

I mean a massive over pay, Wilson is a very unique player and he can’t be easily replaced he is a key piece of the caps, just cause the value is good for the caps doesn’t mean it makes sense. When I say over pay I mean give me matthews retained. No yes that is no where near close in value but the caps have no need to trade Wilson so they need to be persuaded, leaf’s wouldn’t want to give up this much so the deal doesn’t happen

This is a massive overpay. There's no two ways about it. Wilson is a unique player and adds a dimesion that most teams would covet (offensive ability and toughness), but he also comes with the baggage of a repeat offender. Leafs are giving up a PPG winger and a promising young Dman, with minimal cap hit swing. And honestly, I'm not worried about the Leafs needing to add toughness. But, talk to me after the playoffs and I might change my mind LOL

I can live with that. I'm not sure it's a good price to pay for either team

Yeah let’s just trade the much better player (with a good chunk of retained salary), along with a very promising young d man, in exchange for a 2nd liner who hits! Toronto Fleece for sure
